High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a fun, energizing, interval style class. Mainly, the class is comprised of two to one, work to rest ratio intervals. These short spurts of energy are designed to get your heart rate up (around 85% of maximum HR) so you can burn calories and build cardiovascular fitness. In addition to heart health, HIIT is a full body workout. Often using multiple muscle groups in a single exercise, the class is excellent for improving muscular endurance. HIIT also involves all planes of motion, therefore helping balance, coordination, and agility. Most of all HIIT is good for the mind! You get to prove to yourself in the minute interval that you can do anything you set your mind to and achieve your goals.
This class does NOT require the use of hand weights, but if you would like to use weights, you can add up to 5lb. Please bring your yoga mat or we have one you can borrow.
